The next session of classes will begin February 2012
in our new location at 734 Pine St, Philadelphia
This intro level class is designed for beginners or those looking to brush up on their basic jewelry making skills. Students will learn how to make their ideas and designs in metal using techniques such as drilling, sawing, stamping and soldering. We will start by making a simple band ring then move on to a pierced metal pendant or pin as well as set a cabochon stone. The emphasis of this class is to help students learn the fundamentals of working with metal so they can begin to transform their own designs into pieces of jewelry. Students wishing to work in sterling silver may purchase it separately. Class size is limited to 6 students.

Part science camp and part art class, this special workshop is about learning a fun new technique which has fewer safety risks than traditional acid etching. Participants will use a battery and a salt-water bath to aid them in etching (removing metal) and patterning a bronze sheet. You may then choose to make a basic pendant or pair of earrings with your newly textured metal. Reservations required. Class size limited to 6. (Students will have the opportunity to purchase battery etching kits for home use after the workshop for $25)
$40/ 30. each with a friend
Make a set of 3 hammered sterling silver rings. Like the stamped silver band ring workshop, you will have the opportunity to stamp and texture the silver wire then learn how to solder each one. There will also be copper and bronze on hand to make other contrasting bands if you choose. Registration Required. Class size limited to 6.
$25
